Now Available: Automatic Video Subtitles, SMS Text Message Sequences to Collect Feedback, and More

The Boast team has been working hard to give you everything you need to easily collect, manage, and display your testimonials and video feedback. Over the last few months we’ve been working on some new features and updates that you are going to absolutely love!

Request Feedback with Sequence Text Messages

Asking for feedback is now even easier – you can text them a link directly through Boast.Contacts can be enrolled in sequences that notify them via SMS text messages as well as emails. SMS messaging is currently available in the United States only and will open up internationally later next year.

Updated User Interface

In early 2021 we launched a complete overhaul of Boast, which had a huge focus on giving you the features you need to better utilize social proof. We unveiled a fully customizable form builder, email sequences, and many other new features. In 2022 we are making this new version even better by launching an updated, modern app interface that will make Boast even easier to use.

Automatic Video Captions / Subtitles

Boast will now automatically generate subtitles and captions for your showcase videos, making them more accessible for hearing-impaired visitors or viewing without sound.

You are able to make small adjustments to the subtitles if needed, or copy the caption text and use it as part of the testimonial display or for other uses.

New Video Recording Flow for Even Easier Feedback Submissions

Video is the core of what sets Boast apart. When your customers submit a video testimonial, you want the process to be as easy and seamless as possible. Our previous video recorder was pretty great, but we’ve stepped it up a notch and made it even better. Check it out:

Once you click “Record from camera”, you are now taken to a preview screen instead of the recording starting automatically. You can use this preview to make sure that your lighting looks good and your hair looks amazing. There is also a new Settings screen, accessible via the cog icon, where you can swap which camera and microphone are being used for the video.

Other App Improvements

In addition to the larger items discussed above, we’re constantly pushing out smaller updates as well. Here are just a few updates we’ve added recently:

• Implemented additional spam protection
• Added ability to set initial form field values via HTML attributes (e.g. set from server-side PHP)
• Added ability to filter widgets by media (all, any media, only videos, only photos, none)
• Added ability to change the “from” email on sequence messages
• New tag management system
• Added response submission limit emails to notify users when they are close to their response limit
• Incorporated new “read-only” plan
• Misc bug fixes, UI updates, and minor improvements
